Apple continues to release new beta versions of its next major updates.
Apple today released its seventh beta of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 to developers. These updates are intended for developers and should not be installed on personal devices. While the previous beta versions have been fairly stable, the update is still not ready for public release. In addition, the corresponding public beta versions should be released soon.
Registered developers can download new beta releases from Apple’s developer site. They can also be installed “over the air” through Settings.
Apple continues to improve the updates with new features. For example, there were a lot of changes in the third beta version. These include the Snapchat integration for Apple Music and a new service icon. The Clock widget has become more useful. Beta 4 brought back 3D Touch, an updated Apple TV app widget, and more. Beta 5 introduced a new Apple News widget, improved widget privacy, and more. The sixth beta found a new welcome screen in Apple Maps and a new mode for AirPods Pro.
Apple also released tvOS 14 beta 7, which can be installed via Xcode, and macOS 11 Big Sur beta 6.
