This spring, Apple released a brand new trackpad keyboard for the iPad Pro. The novelty is called Magic Keyboard. Many people liked the accessory. With its help, iPad Pro was able to get one step closer to laptops. However, the Magic Keyboard had one drawback – the high price. This problem can be partially solved by using alternative accessories. Fortunately, over the past few months, several analogs of the Magic Keyboard have appeared on sale.
Logitech Folio Touch
Logitech has been producing keyboards for apple tablets for several years. Therefore, it is not surprising that the manufacturer decided to create its own analogue of the Magic Keyboard. The accessory is called Folio Touch.
It’s worth noting that unlike the original Apple Keyboard with Trackpad, the Folio Touch is only compatible with the 11-inch iPad Pro. However, the accessory is much cheaper – 160 versus 299 dollars.
For a noticeably lower price, users get a soft fabric keyboard case with a trackpad, automatically adjustable backlighting and a set of function keys. In addition, the case allows you to use the tablet in four positions, ideal for typing, watching videos, sketching and reading. Also, the accessory protects iPad Pro from minor mechanical damage.
For now, Folio Touch can be ordered only on the American Logitech website. Separately, it should be noted that the manufacturer also has a keyboard case with a trackpad for “regular” iPads. It costs $ 150 and has about the same features as the Folio Touch.
Brydge Pro +
Brydge has also prepared its answer with Magic Keyboard. Dubbed the Brydge Pro +, her accessory is compatible with both 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros. However, it differs from both the Magic Keyboard and the Folio Touch in their designs. In fact, Brydge has created a keyboard with a trackpad that holds the iPad using special mounts.
The Brydge Pro + has an aluminum body, scissor keys, adjustable backlighting and a full range of function keys. It is noteworthy that the manufacturer decided to abandon the use of the Smart Connector, for this reason Bluetooth is used to “communicate” with the iPad Pro.
The built-in battery is responsible for the autonomy of the accessory. According to the manufacturer, one full charge of the battery will last for about three months. However, with active use of the backlight operating at maximum brightness, this figure is noticeably reduced.
You can buy Brydge Pro + now on the manufacturer’s official website. In Europe, prices for a keyboard cover start at 219 euros. For this money, users will be able to purchase an accessory designed for use with the 11-inch iPad Pro.
Phixonzar Keyboard Case
The Phixonzar Keyboard Case is one of the most affordable trackpad keyboard cases for iPad Pro. This accessory can be purchased on Amazon for $ 90 excluding shipping. At the same time, most often, there is an accessory on sale that is compatible with the 12.9-inch version of the iPad Pro.
The Phixonzar Keyboard Case is somewhat similar in design to the Brydge Pro +. However, unlike its more expensive competitor, this accessory has a number of features that have helped to reduce its cost. For example, the maximum opening angle of the cover is only 135 degrees. For comparison, in the case of the Brydge Pro +, this figure is 180 degrees.
Also, the manufacturer decided to save on materials, preferring conventional plastic. This led to the fact that the body of the device can bend slightly when you press the keys. Phixonzar Keyboard Case does not stand out with impressive autonomy. With active backlighting, the accessory can work only about 3-4 hours. However, unlike the competition in Phixonzar Keyboard Case, users can adjust not only the intensity, but also the backlight color.
