Among all the new features in iOS 14, there is one that delighted many the most. This is the ability to change the default browser and mail client. You can now use the default Outlook and Gmail apps and the default Google Chrome and Firefox browsers on your iPhone instead of Mail and Safari.
IOS 12 introduced the ability to delete default apps, but you couldn’t change them to others. This has changed in iOS 14.
The Mail app is good too, but it’s not perfect. Plus, it’s always nice to have a choice. If you have a Windows computer or Android tablet, now you can use one mail client on all devices. Below we will show you how to do this.
How to change the default mail client on iPhone
For now, this feature only supports Outlook, but the method will be the same for other applications. Apps must first be updated to support the feature.
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Scroll down and select Outlook > Default mail application…
Step 3: Please select Outlook…
That’s all, now on your iPhone, Microsoft Outlook will be the default mail service. When you select someone’s e-mail, this particular application will open.
The ability to change default apps is far from the only great feature in iOS 14. You can read about all the others here.
