Despite the declining interest in jailbreaking, some developers still continue to create and refine tools for jailbreaking iOS. In particular, recently the pwn20wnd team released a new version of their unc0ver application. The updated unc0ver 3.5.0 utility allows you to jailbreak iOS 12.4 devices.

According to the developers, the new version of unc0ver helps to jailbreak Apple mobile devices that run all versions of iOS 11 and iOS 12, excluding only iOS 12.3.

unc0ver 3.5.0 is compatible with the following devices:

  • iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
  • iPad Air, iPad 6th generation

As before, the jailbreak is semi-tethered. This means that the hacking process will have to be done once a week. As for installing the jailbreak, it is no different from the one described in this manual.

According to the reviews, in some cases the hacking process can fail. Usually at these moments the unc0ver application just hangs. In this case, all that remains is to reboot the device and carry out the jailbreak procedure again.
